India–Chile Advance Talks on Comprehensive Economic Partnership
In a significant step toward strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, India and Chile continued to advance negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). During a high-level meeting, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held discussions with Claudia Sanhueza, Undersecretary of the Treasury of Chile’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both nations to deepen trade, investment, and strategic ties. CEPA, once concluded, is expected to expand market access, create new opportunities for businesses, and promote collaboration across key sectors including technology, services, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and renewable energy.

Both sides reviewed the latest progress, highlighted areas of convergence, and set the direction for the next phase of negotiations. The dialogue reflects the growing importance of India–Chile relations and the mutual vision to build a future-ready economic partnership.

With renewed momentum, the ongoing discussions signal a promising path toward a more comprehensive and dynamic bilateral framework that benefits people, enterprises, and innovation in both countries.
