Famous Indian Yogi Sadhguru Arrives in Azerbaijan to Participate in COP29
The 29th conference of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) has commenced in Baku, Azerbaijan's capital. This year's large-scale international event aimed at promoting global cooperation in addressing the climate crisis will take place from November 11-22. It is expected that the conference will attract approximately 80,000 attendees, including high-ranking officials from around the globe.
Earlier, it was announced that the founder of the Isha Charitable Foundation and renowned Indian yoga practitioner, Sadhguru, arrived in Baku on November 10 to participate in COP29. Having been teaching yoga since 1982, Sadhguru is also the author of bestselling books such as "Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy" and "Karma: A Yogi's Guide to Creating Your Destiny".
Sadhguru is a frequent speaker at international forums and a passionate environmentalist, leading initiatives such as Project GreenHands, Rally for Rivers, Cauvery Calling, and Journey to Save Soil. In recognition of his contributions to spirituality and humanitarian efforts, Sadhguru received the Order of Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award in India, in 2017.
Upon his arrival at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, Sadhguru was welcomed warmly by the host organization. He was escorted personally by Metin Kerimli, the Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan.
