Brazil Will Assume the Role of BRICS Presidency by 2025
For the Brazilian presidency in 2025, it will take over the political leadership of the BRICS, which will provide a significant impetus for the country. It indicates that it will have to promote southern cooperation in global terms, to compare with changes in the real global governance structure and to construct the trading mechanisms which at the same time are also the political relationships for and between their members.

The main areas for the BRICS Agenda under Brazil's president this year that greatly target the following initiatives are:

- "Trade and Investment Boost": Regulating cross-border movement through payment systems toward enabling smoother trade and investment transactions within and between member countries
- "Artificial Intelligence Regulatory Framework": Establish an AI governance framework applicable universally and based on responsible practices of progress
- "Addressing Climate Change": Find suitable financing to combat climate change
- "Scaling-Up South-South Cooperation": Instead, scaling up cooperation among the countries in the Global South, particularly in the public health domain.
- "Global Governance Reforming": A reform of the global governance structures with a view to ensuring a more inclusive, sustainable decision-making around it.

Under the Brazilian presidency of BRICS, membership is expected to increase with at least nine new potential members: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, and Iran.
