India-Colombia Strengthen Ties Through AI Training and Capacity Building
The Indian Embassy in Bogota hosted a meeting between Ambassador Vanlalhuma and Colonel Hernando Antonio Vallejo Valencia, Chief of the Planning Office of the National Police of Colombia. The meeting also included 25 Colombian officers who recently participated in an ITEC training course on Artificial Intelligence for Human Security, held at Rashtriya Raksha University in Gujarat, India.

The purpose of the gathering was to hear directly from the Colombian officers about their experience in India. They shared insights gained during the course and discussed the practical applications of AI in areas such as crime prevention, investigation, and overall human security. The feedback highlighted the relevance of the training and the value of international cooperation in law enforcement.

The ITEC course focused on how AI can enhance public safety and help law enforcement agencies become more efficient. The Colombian officials returned with new knowledge and ideas that can be implemented to improve policing strategies back home.

This initiative is part of India’s broader strategy to strengthen ties with Colombia through education, training, and knowledge exchange. Such programs not only build capacity but also foster long-term partnerships and mutual understanding.
