India and Ecuador Sign MoU to Deepen Diplomatic Training Cooperation
Union Minister of State for External Affairs &Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita, held a productive meeting with H.E. Gabriela Sommerfeld, Minister of Foreign and Human Mobility Affairs of Ecuador, as part of his official engagements in Quito. The discussion focused on advancing a broad spectrum of India-Ecuador cooperation.

Both sides reviewed progress in key sectors, including political dialogue, trade and commerce, pharmaceuticals, training and capacity-building, and other priority areas identified by both governments. The Minister emphasized India’s readiness to partner Ecuador in digital public infrastructure, health, and skill-development initiatives, building on the growing momentum in bilateral ties.

A significant outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the diplomatic training institutions of the two countries. The MoU will enable structured exchanges, joint programmes, and enhanced professional development for diplomats, reflecting the shared commitment to strengthening institutional linkages.

The engagement further consolidated India’s ongoing outreach in Ecuador and reinforced the deepening collaboration between the two nations.
