India and Cuba Deepen Renewable Energy Dialogue at COP30
Union Minister Bhupender Yadav met today with Dr. C. Armando Rodriguez Batista, Cuba’s Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, on the sidelines of COP30, reaffirming India’s commitment to strengthening clean-energy cooperation with Cuba.

The discussions centered on expanding collaboration in renewable energy, with a particular focus on solar development. Minister Yadav noted that Cuba, as a member of the LMDC grouping, is also a signatory to the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI)—platforms through which India has been providing technical expertise and support.

Both sides reviewed ongoing ISA-assisted solar initiatives in Cuba and explored ways to accelerate project implementation, capacity building, and technology sharing. They also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation through CDRI in enhancing climate resilience and disaster-prepared infrastructure.

The productive exchange underscored the growing convergence between India and Cuba on climate action and clean-energy priorities, highlighting a shared commitment to advancing sustainable solutions across the Global South.
