Africa's natural resources, demographic advantage, and growing economic integration through the African Continental Free Trade Area make it an attractive destination for investment, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Wednesday. He also said that India's new-age digital technologies and space programme offer huge opportunities for cooperation between India and Africa. "Africa's resources, population growth, and economic integration make it a promising investment destination," Dhankar said at the CII India-Africa Business Conclave. He added that the DFTP scheme offers immense opportunities for mutual growth. The vice president noted that rising Africa and India can provide a strong impetus for south-south collaboration in areas such as clean technology, climate-resilient agriculture, maritime security, and connectivity.
India's space programme offers Africa technology-based solutions to help achieve sustainable development. He said that this is an area with enormous opportunities, adding that India is Africa's fourth-largest trading partner with bilateral trade of $85 billion.
