Ambassador Raj Kumar Singh Explores Enhanced Forensic Cooperation during Visit to INACIF
Ambassador of India to Guatemala, H.E. Raj Kumar Singh, visited the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) and held a constructive meeting with the Director General, Ms. Ingrid Romero, to discuss opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of forensic science.

During the meeting, both sides explored the possibility of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing institutional collaboration between India and Guatemala. Discussions also focused on potential avenues for academic and professional training, including opportunities for Guatemalan students and professionals to receive specialized training at the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Gandhinagar, India.

The dialogue highlighted existing cooperation frameworks, noting that in the previous year, four employees from Guatemala’s forensic services successfully utilized four Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme slots. This engagement was recognized as a meaningful contribution to capacity building and the strengthening of professional linkages between the two countries.

As part of the visit, Ambassador Singh was given a brief tour of the Genetics Laboratory at INACIF, gaining insight into the institute’s technical capabilities and ongoing work in forensic analysis.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of India and Guatemala to deepening collaboration in forensic science, capacity building, and knowledge exchange, reflecting a broader intent to strengthen bilateral relations through institutional partnerships and skill development.
