As we expand our project portfolio, we are inviting volunteers to work on a non‑remunerated basis in exchange for:

As we expand our project portfolio, we are inviting volunteers to work on a non‑remunerated basis in exchange for:
- Unique hands‑on experience with Indian diasporas and Latin American experts;
- Co‑authorship credits on publications (with your name acknowledged);
- Strong recommendation letters for graduate or doctoral applications;
- Flexible schedules (fully remote or hybrid).
Focus: working with data and content.
- ·Format 1 (Deep Dive): Contribute to our quarterly analytical reports – collect and pre‑process statistical data on migration flows, economic indicators of Latin American countries, and Indian-LATAM trade. Requirements: proficiency in Excel/SPSS, strong attention to detail.
- Format 2 (Writing): Produce short weekly digests of key events in India for the Centre’s internal database. Monitor Indian media and social media (Twitter/X, WhatsApp channels) to gauge public sentiment. Deliverable: 1-2 posts per week for our internal Instagram/Facebook/X channel.
Focus: packaging expert knowledge into accessible formats.
- ·Format 1 (Video/Podcast): Create short vertical videos (Reels/Shorts) based on our articles to engage younger audiences in both India and LATAM. Edit interview footage with experts.
- Format 2 (Media Writing): Adapt “dry” academic texts into engaging articles for popular media outlets (e.g., Medium, local city blogs, or regional news sites). Draft press releases for our events.
- Schedule: Project‑based – you work when we have content, and you’re free when we don’t.
Focus: live interaction and event organisation.
- Format 1 (Event Curator): Help organise our monthly “India Friends Club” gatherings – lectures, film screenings, cultural tastings. Find venues, send invitations, manage guest registration (Zoom / offline).
- Format 2 (Diaspora Liaison): Moderate chat groups for Indian students in LATAM. Collect feedback on bureaucratic or social challenges they face – this serves as field data for our Centre.
- Schedule: 3-5 hours per week, ideally in the morning/evening (to accommodate time zones for communication with India).
Focus: securing resources for our projects.
- Format 1 (Research): Monitor open grant calls (Presidential Grants, UN funds, etc.). Prepare application templates – translate requirements, gather input from our experts.
- Format 2 (Database Building): Develop a partner database – embassies of India in LATAM, cultural centres, business angels with an interest in India.
- Schedule: Fully flexible. We ask for deliverables every two weeks (e.g., a list of 10 new contacts or one identified grant opportunity).
Levels of Commitment (Choose what suits you)
We understand that everyone has different amounts of free time, so we’ve defined three participation modes:
Light

- Tasks: One‑off translations, moderating one chat, scanning for news.

- Best for: Freelancers, PhD candidates, or anyone seriously building their CV.
- Tasks: Running a full Centre media channel or preparing a chapter of an analytical report. Access to internal webinars.
Intensive
(20+ hours/week – effectively part‑time)

- Best for: Those aiming to become a track coordinator within 3 months.
- Bonus: Co‑authorship on final research papers (including VAK/Scopus‑listed journals) and possible joint field trips (when transport budget allows).
Important: We respect your time – there is no “butt‑in‑seat” culture. We work with OKRs (Objectives and Key Results). You’ll know exactly what your task is and when it’s due; we evaluate results, not hours spent online.
