On 22 March 2026, the district of San Juan de Lurigancho in Lima witnessed a vibrant celebration of Indian culture during the “Dances of India” festival.
The event brought together hundreds of residents and highlighted the growing cultural connect between India and Peru through an engaging display of artistic traditions. It reflected the shared enthusiasm for intercultural exchange and community participation.
The festival featured a rich showcase of classical and folk dances from India, alongside popular Bollywood performances, creating an atmosphere of color, music, and joy. Children, youth, and adults actively participated, making it a lively and inclusive cultural experience.
The event was inaugurated by Ambassador of India Vishvas Sapkal, along with Mr. Antonio Rojas Crisóstomo, Manager of Human Development and the Sub-Management of Social Services of the municipality. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to promoting cultural activities and strengthening people-to-people ties at the community level.
