Embassy of India in Santiago Marks 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Celebrations
The Embassy of India in Santiago celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with pride, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of togetherness. The event brought together members of the vibrant Indian diaspora and Chilean friends of India in an atmosphere filled with patriotic fervour.

H.E. Ms. Abhilasha Joshi, Ambassador of India to Chile, unfurled the National Flag, which soared high against the Santiago sky as the gathering joined in singing the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana. The Ambassador also read the Independence Day address of the Honble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, and shared key excerpts from the Honble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modis inspiring speech delivered from the Red Fort. Her words highlighted Indias steady progress, growing global partnerships, and the vision for a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Over 300 members of the Indian community and Chilean well-wishers took part in the celebration, reflecting the depth of shared values and cultural bonds that strengthen the IndiaChile partnership. The guests enjoyed a spread of Indian delicacies, adding colour and flavour to the evening while showcasing the richness of Indias culinary heritage.
