In a renewed push to strengthen space collaboration, India’s Ambassador Dinesh Bhatia met with Marco Antnio Chamon, President of Brazil’s space agency (AEB), to explore ways of deepening their ongoing partnership with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The meeting, details of which including the location were not disclosed, focused on affirming and expanding the robust cooperation already in place between the two agencies.
The two leaders exchanged insights on current joint initiatives, spanning satellite development, earth observation missions, and scientific exchange programs. They expressed mutual optimism about leveraging each other's strengths Indias expertise in cost-effective space technology and Brazil’s unique capabilities in regional infrastructure and environmental monitoring.
Ambassador Bhatia lauded ISROs progress in space innovation, describing India as a strategic and trusted partner poised to support emerging economies. Meanwhile, President Chamon reiterated Brazil’s strong interest in leveraging ISROs advancements to reinforce initiatives in sustainable agriculture, disaster response, and regional connectivity.
This high-level dialogue reinforces the growing importance of South-South cooperation in science and technology. As long-time BRICS partners, both nations see space collaboration as a complementary pillar to their broader strategic and economic relations. Both sides pledged to pursue new collaborative frameworks, aiming to translate their vision into concrete projects that will benefit their respective regions.
