In a significant cultural milestone for IndiaBrazil relations, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) in So Paulo unveiled its very first home production DVD, Mantra for Peace, during the citys iconic Durga Puja celebrations. The launch, held on September 30, brought together the Indian community, Brazilian friends of India, and cultural enthusiasts in a festive atmosphere that blended devotion with diplomacy.
The event was graced by the Ambassador of India to Brazil, H.E. Shri Dinesh Bhatia, who officially released the DVD in the presence of Dr. Jyoti Kiran Shukla, Director of SVCC. Both dignitaries highlighted the growing importance of cultural diplomacy in strengthening the people-to-people bonds that underpin bilateral relations between India and Brazil.
Mantra for Peace is a unique initiative that brings together traditional Indian chants and music, produced entirely in-house by the SVCC team in Brazil. By blending authenticity with accessibility, the project aims to spread Indias timeless message of peace, harmony, and spiritual well-being to a global audience.
The choice of the Durga Puja festival for the launch carried symbolic meaning, as the celebration itself reflects resilience, cultural pride, and the triumph of good over evil. For the Indian diaspora in Brazil, the event marked not only a celebration of their heritage but also a moment of pride in seeing Indias cultural diplomacy flourish on Latin American soil.
