India Celebrates International Day of Yoga with Sunrise Session at Lake Titicaca
As part of the International Day of Yoga 2026 celebrations, the Embassy of India organized a special sunrise yoga session at Lake Titicaca in Puno, Peru. Held at the world's highest navigable lake, located over 3,800 metres above sea level, the event offered participants a unique opportunity to practice yoga amid the scenic beauty of the Peruvian Andes.

Despite temperatures of around 3°C, participants gathered at dawn to welcome the first rays of the sun through yoga, experiencing an atmosphere of peace, harmony and mindfulness in one of South America's most iconic natural landscapes.

The event highlighted yoga's universal appeal as a practice that promotes physical well-being, mental balance and a deeper connection with nature, while bringing together people in a spirit of health and unity.

The celebration reflected the enduring cultural ties between India and Peru and reinforced the shared commitment to promoting wellness, cultural exchange and the global message of the International Day of Yoga.
