India and Brazil Hold First Joint Working Group Meeting on Critical Minerals
India and Brazil convened the first Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting under the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Rare Earth Elements and Critical Minerals. The meeting was co-chaired by Sandeep Kadam Vasant, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and Gustavo Santos Masili, General Coordinator for Strategic Minerals and Energy Transition in Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy.

The discussions focused on strategic policies, India's National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM), investment opportunities, technical cooperation, and a roadmap for future engagement. Both sides emphasized the importance of building resilient and sustainable critical mineral value chains to support industrial growth and the global energy transition.

The inaugural JWG meeting marks an important milestone in India-Brazil cooperation in the mining sector. By strengthening collaboration in critical minerals, the two countries aim to enhance resource security, promote innovation, and deepen their strategic partnership in areas of growing global importance.
