Ambassador Vishvas Sapkal conveyed the warm congratulations of the Government and people of India to President Keiko Fujimori following her swearing-in as President of the Republic of Peru. The greetings were extended during a reception hosted by the Government of Peru after the inauguration ceremony on 28 July 2026.
During the event, the Ambassador also met Peru's First and Second Vice Presidents, as well as the Foreign Minister, reaffirming India's commitment to strengthening bilateral engagement with Peru's new administration.
The interaction reflects India's continued support for closer diplomatic ties with Peru and its readiness to expand cooperation across areas of mutual interest. As both countries seek to deepen their partnership, high-level diplomatic engagements remain an important platform for advancing political dialogue, economic cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.
