The Ministry of External Affairs announced that, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President of Brazil, H.E. Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will undertake a State Visit to India from 18 to 22 February 2026.
According to MEA Spokesperson Mr. Randhir Jaiswal, President Lula will participate in the 2nd AI Summit scheduled to be held in New Delhi from 19 to 20 February. The visit will also include comprehensive bilateral engagements aimed at further strengthening India–Brazil relations.
The main day of bilateral talks during the State Visit will be 21 February, when President Lula will hold discussions with Prime Minister Modi. On the same day, he will be hosted by the President of India and is also expected to meet several senior dignitaries, including the Vice President of India.
President Lula will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and a business delegation. Several engagements have been planned to facilitate interaction with Indian industry and to deepen cooperation across sectors, including technology, trade, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
The upcoming visit reflects the deepening strategic partnership between India and Brazil, two major democracies and Global South partners, and is expected to further consolidate cooperation at bilateral, multilateral, and business levels.
