During his visit to Uruguay, Ambassador of India to Argentina and concurrent Ambassador to Uruguay, Ajaneesh Kumar (@AjaneeshK), engaged in a wide range of meetings that reflected the depth and diversity of IndiaUruguay relations.
He met with Amb. Martin Vidal, General Director of Political Affairs; Ms. Claudia Peris, Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works; Ms. Valeria Csukasi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Mr. Constante Mendiondo, Vice President of the Port Administration. These discussions focused on strengthening political dialogue, exploring avenues in transport and infrastructure, and expanding cooperation in trade, logistics, and port connectivity.
The Ambassador also held productive exchanges with leading Indian IT firms operating in Uruguay, including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infogain, where he interacted with professionals from the growing Indian community. In the business sector, he met the Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and Services of Uruguay (CCSUy) and the Rural Association of Uruguay, underlining the potential for deeper collaboration in services, agribusiness, and technology.
Beyond economics and diplomacy, Ambassador Kumar emphasized Indias cultural outreach by engaging with the Association of Yoga Institutes of Uruguay (AgNY) and the Uruguayan Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (AUMA). His visits to the Radha Vishwanat Mandir, the ISKCON Hare Krishna temple, and the local chapter of the Ramakrishna Mission highlighted the living bonds of spirituality, wellness, and culture that connect people of both nations.
The visit showcased the multidimensional nature of IndiaUruguay relations, spanning diplomacy, trade, technology, community engagement, and shared cultural values.
