Colombia and India Open 100% Scholarships for Training in AI, Data and Leadership: Benefits and Application Requirements

The following is good news for everyone in Colombia who is interested in studying and expanding their knowledge in artificial intelligence, data analysis, and strategic leadership. The Colombian Institute for Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad (Icetex), together with the Government of India, has opened four scholarship calls for professionals as part of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme.

According to the institute, these academic opportunities seek to strengthen and update professionals’ knowledge in areas that are essential to the demands of today’s labor market, particularly in a country like India, which has established itself as a global powerhouse in technology services and is making a strong commitment to developing its artificial intelligence ecosystem.

In addition, the Asian country is considered a hub for the operations of many companies worldwide and is becoming a key testing ground for assessing the impact of AI on employment. According to NASSCOM, India’s technology industry projected revenues of US$315 billion for fiscal year 2025–26 (FY26), with estimated growth of 6.1% compared with the previous period.

The four programs offered are: Specialized Programme in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics for Decision Making, Leadership for 21st Century Women Professionals, and Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace for Women.

Tangible Benefits

According to the information provided, those selected will receive 100% funding, meaning that the full cost of tuition will be covered. They will also receive round-trip airfare, as well as accommodation and a daily allowance to cover personal expenses during their stay in India.

In addition, they will receive assistance with the visa application process, updated academic materials relevant to the programs, among other benefits.

It should be noted that these programs will last between 14 and 21 days and will be held in person and in an immersive format at three institutions in India: the International Statistical Education Centre in Kolkata, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing at its campuses in Noida and Mohali, and the Indian Institute of Public Administration in New Delhi.

Icetex also stated in a press release that, “These international cooperation opportunities allow more Colombian professionals to access knowledge and training experiences in areas that are currently essential to the country’s development”.

Requirements to Apply

Among the criteria established by the institute to qualify for the scholarships are:
● Be a Colombian professional and currently reside in the country.
● Hold an undergraduate degree or a university professional degree.
● Have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0.
● Provide proof of an English proficiency level of B2 or higher.
● Demonstrate relevant work experience related to the subject matter of the program.

Those interested in applying must complete the entire registration process through the Icetex website, where the key dates for each course and the application steps are also detailed. Icetex reminded applicants that all of its international scholarship application processes are completely free and do not require intermediaries, in order to prevent fraud and scams.
